Are You Receiving Those Big Fat Affiliate Checks?
I think we can all agree that starting an affiliate business is one of the easiest ways to begin making money online. Simply put, affiliate marketing is a relationship between a merchant who offers their products and services and an affiliate who agrees to promote them.
The affiliate’s main task is to promote those products and services and in turn receives a commission when a sale is completed. Whenever a buyer is referred to the merchant’s site via the efforts of the affiliate, and makes a purchase, the affiliate gets a percentage of the sale amount. No payments are made to the affiliate until the sale is completed. The three most common ways an affiliate is paid is PPS (pay-per-sale), PPC (pay-per-click) and PPL (pay-per-lead).
Some affiliates only earn a few dollars each month while others earn 5 and 6 figures on a consistent basis. There is no limit on the amount of money an affiliate can earn and their earnings are usually based on their determination, strategies and creativity. Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn an online income and one of the biggest benefits is not having to create your own product or service. Those who promote the merchants products aggressively and passionately, will ultimately see much more income. Nearly every affiliate starts out making small amounts but that can grow with the right strategies and a positive mind set.
There are lots of ways affiliate marketers can increase their earnings. Ask any affiliate how much money they would like to make and most likely the answer will be; “as much as possible”. Some affiliate checks are very small and may only be a few dollars while others are getting very large amounts well into the thousands. Over a period of time, it is possible to see those impressive amounts as well. Being a successful affiliate marketer and generating those large checks does not happen overnight. It can only happen if you’re willing to put in the time and work hard. You also need to be creative, willing to learn, seek out ways to drive traffic and take action.
Most affiliates want to see lots of those affiliate checks coming in each month but it’s not as easy as it may sound. Do you think by joining many affiliate programs that you’ll see more and larger checks? The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT! Unfortunately, there are many affiliates that think by joining multitudes of affiliate programs, they are making a good choice. Yes, it is very easy to join affiliate programs and get instant approval. What happens when a person does that, is they fail to give each of the programs the attention and commitment it should have and in most cases the results are dismal.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having multiple income streams but you’ll be doing yourself a great favor by concentrating on one program to begin with. Try to pick the product or service that you are passionate about and have trust in. Products and services that you personally use are the best ones to promote. When you have hands on experience with a product, it shows that you are sincere and enthusiastic. Believe it or not, customers can sense that, plus it makes your product more credible and believable. That generally leads to a much higher rate of conversion.
Once you see that your first choice of programs is starting to make some money, that’s the time to consider joining an additional program and from there you should duplicate the process. One of the most common mistakes affiliates make is taking on too much at one time. Their intention is to create multiple income streams but for the majority, it simply does not work.
You will realize more success by focusing on one program and giving it your best effort until it starts producing income. Only then, should you seek another program and give it your best shot. Maybe the question should be how many big fat checks you want to receive rather than how many checks you want to receive. The answer to that question is dependent on how determined you are to maximize your income. By utilizing the right strategies, tools, taking action and persevering, it is possible to get those big fat affiliate checks.
If you are currently an affiliate marketer, do you focus on one product or service at a time? Or do you promote many products at once hoping to see many affiliate checks? Please feel free to share your experience with promoting affiliate products and services.

Yeah, I really agree with the point that we have to concentrate on one or not too much affiliate product so we could strive hard to get revenue from it.
Too much products will let you busy with too much things too think. And you can’t get it all in the end.

Hi BloggerDaily,
In the case of affiliate marketing, quality rather than quantity is generally the key to successful promotions. Those who focus on one product at a time usually have better results.
Thanks for visiting and your comments are appreciated. Don’t be a stranger.

When we first started, maybe we’re using trial and error method. Once we focus on one thing and make sure it is successfully implemented, then it become a successful formula. That’s make the difference between big affiliate earner and those part timer. They really meant for business.
Hi Kenny,
Nothing wrong with the good old trial and error method.
It’s a great way to test different products, services, strategies, etc. When you find something that works, you can stick with it and begin trying something different.
Thanks for your visit and your comments.

Hi lawmacs,
If you can’t focus on any given task, you usually have mediocre results. That’s why I always recommend one thing at a time until you become proficient enough to move on. I just love it when people agree with me.
Always great seeing you here and I do appreciate your comments.

Robert you have said it well that we should concentrate on few products rather than choosing too much product.
I tried selling few products in my blog but was never a success.

Hello Shabnam,
There could be many reasons why you didn’t have any success. Maybe you weren’t promoting the right products for your particular audience or perhaps the resources the program provided weren’t the greatest. Maybe you didn’t give it enough time to realize positive results.
Whatever the reason, I suggest you keep on trying and testing various products or services. You have an excellent blog to use as your vehicle. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Great seeing you here and your comments are appreciated.
To your great success!

I think we are both tuned in the same “radar”. Believe it or not but I am about to finish a blog posts that is very similar to this one. Maybe the approach is different as it has to do with “getting paid” and not “earning” money. Anyway stay tuned for that, it should take a moment longer
As for your tips, I can’t agree more. Focus your efforts on one thing at the time and then move on. Yet another good one

Your response to Shabnam was right on. Having the right products for your niche and giving away great information. Affiliate products has to be related to your business model.
Personally I believe that the best results are when you recommend affiliate products when the time is right. That would be after you have developed a relationship with your prospects.
I may be going off in a different direction here but it all boils down to your marketing funnel. if you are generating leads and prospects through an affiliate program you are working harder and making less. You’re basically telling people that there is someone else who is better and smarter than you. Not Good..
Generating leads through your own product such as a special report or e-book positions you as the “go to” person. Then after you’ve built a relationship with them they are more apt to listen to your recommendations because they have received the most value from you.

Hi James,
You brought up some very valid points. I’m too, am a firm believer in building relationships and trust first. You also want to ultimately be known as an authority figure (don’t care for the word “guru”) in your chosen niche.
Thanks for visiting and your insightful comments are very much appreciated. I wish you much continued success!

Robert- Thanks for a great intro to affiliate marketing. I know about it, but was shocked to hear about how easy it is to make some money doing it. I am still investigating, but this post helped clear some stuff up, and got the wheels turning faster.
Hi Pablo,
Glad to hear I helped get the wheels moving faster.
Just want to clarify the point about making money easily. Affiliate marketing is a business that is “easy” to get started in but making money from it takes lots of hard work and dedication.
Appreciate your visit here and your comments. Hope to see you here often. To your success!
