Do You Need To Have Your Own Product To Be Successful?
Whether or not you need to have your own product to become a successful affiliate marketer is a question that has been asked and answered every few minutes since affiliate marketing came on the scene. The reason it is asked so often is because everybody has a different answer. There are those who say you absolutely MUST have your own product to get started and to succeed in affiliate marketing and then there are those who say you don’t need a product when you start or ever to be successful. So, which is it? Yes? No?
The fact of the matter is that everybody is right. Having your own product is great but it isn’t absolutely necessary. Those who have their own product can build a website around that product and add affiliate links to it. Those who don’t have their own products can still create a great website and be an affiliate marketer. Producers of products love affiliate marketers and products are not the least bit hard to find.
The thing that both those who do and those who don’t have their own product have in common is that they both must be passionate about the products they sell. You will never be successful in selling something that you aren’t interested in yourself. It takes drive and ambition to succeed at any endeavor and affiliate marketing isn’t any different. You must be passionate about a product or an idea in order to keep your drive and ambition alive and well for the long haul.
Whether you are marketing your own product or a product produced by others your success is directly related to how effective your marketing techniques are, how focused you are, how well you manage your time, and how much you believe in the product.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right!
You’ll not gain success in promoting something that you don’t love even it’s your own product. The important thing you yourself mush have passion in the products that you’re promoting.
Readers and prospects will get attracted to the sincere promotion that will detail about the products. Nice promotion always gain more sales.
For me, having own products is better but having own product is not a guarantee to success

Hello MonsterBuzz,
Yes, potential customers can generally tell if you believe in what you’re promoting. If a marketer doesn’t sound sincere, it will be very difficult to convince someone to purchase a product. This holds true not only for online products but brick and mortar sales as well.

Being passionate about anything is the very first point if entry. You should blog about something that you are passionate about and hence, promote products related to that passion. Makes sense, right?
On the other hand, I believe that in general, specially for bloggers, marketing other peoples products is best. For you to market your own product requires a lot of effort. Logistics, support, shipping, CRM, and the list goes on. Obviously, if you own a company and you have all the necessary “back office” to handle things, by all means do so. Otherwise, stick to marketing OPP (Other peoples products).
Makes great sense to me DiTesco.
That’s why I enjoy affiliate marketing. I love the fact that I don’t have to cope with all headaches that a product developer needs to deal with. Until I come up with the “next big thing” or something that revolutionizes the world of internet marketing, I’ll stick to marketing OPP’s.

Affiliate marketing is definitely a great way to bring in extra income whether if it’s your product or someone else. If you can have your product made available think of making extra money constantly by just letting other people sell it for you. I’m presently working on an e-book that I hope will let me just advertise it and let Click Bank sell it for me, while I sit back and collect the revenue. I hope!

I absolutely agree on this comment.
The three main things that I have founds that have created success for many in this area have been mainly Passion, Product (weather it is your own or other people’s product that you are promoting) and People, the support team and staff that can provide you with the right tools and systems, or just simple support to help you be as successful as possible.
I work with alot of speakers and authors and it takes some of them awhile to realize they are in fact Info-Preneurs and can create much more success through affiliate product sales.
Hello Payam Lavi,
I like that and I’ll have to remember those 3 P’s—Passion, Product and People.
Thanks for stopping by and posting your comments.

Finally promoting product at right place in right way matters more then choosing between your own product and others product. As an affiliate marketer you must have killer attitudes towards selling products
