There are loads of articles written about the best ways to chose a ClickBank product and you’ll see that many affiliates differ with their methods.

I agree that it’s a good idea to purchase a product you’re interested in promoting so you can give first hand experience and explain the pros and cons. However, as you stated, it may not be feasible or in the budget for someone who is just starting out.

Without going into a lot of detail here, the things I look for are Gravity, %Refd, Total$/Sale, merchants sales page and the resources available to promote the product. I also try and research the product and the merchant for any feedback both positive and negative.

ClickBank also has a guide to picking a product ( http://www.clickbank.com/help/affiliate-help/affiliate-basics/finding-products-to-promote/ ) that you may find helpful. This guide will explain the terms I mentioned.

ClickBank does offer a lot of products, a lot of them seem to be a little on the sketchy side. How does one figure out which products are best to pitch? I read somewhere that a blogger should buy the product first and try it out before pitching it, but if one is just starting out that most often isn’t the most feasible idea.

With regard to your question, one of the things you must do before you start earning money is: build a relationship with your readers. To gain the trust of your readers, you need to continually provide useful information and resources. Only promote products that you feel confident about and wouldn’t hesitate buying for yourself. Try and research every product, as well as the merchant.

It’s not an easy business and it does take some hard work and lots of patience but the rewards can be great. It took me several months before I made my first $$.

I truly believe that the way to earn big with ClickBank or any other program for that matter, is to build a large subscriber list. Build a relationship and trust with your subscribers and eventually they will purchase your recommended products. The marketers who can blast an email to 20, 50 or 100,000 subscribers are always going to come out on top. Sure, there are other ways to promote your products and make a few sales here and there but none are as effective as a good email campaign.

I get loads of emails every day and I can’t believe some the bonus’s, discounts, rebates and more that certain marketers will offer to get a sale. The competition is fierce and we are also in one of the most competitive markets on the net. I never said this would be easy.
