Most online marketers are convinced that affiliate marketing is an excellent way to earn money to either supplement their wages or make it their primary source of income. Unfortunately, there are very few (less than 5%) affiliates who actually earn a significant amount of money. One of the biggest reasons why so many people fail is the fact that they give up to soon. They will promote a few products and when the results aren’t immediate, they give up and feel that affiliate marketing isn’t a viable method of earning online and the programs just don’t work.

The truth of the matter is, there are many good affiliate programs out there. One of the most credible and reliable is ClickBank and it’s especially good for those who are just starting out. The biggest problem you’ll have with ClickBank is the amount of competition you’ll be up against. Most affiliate marketers, whether seasoned pros or “newbies” currently promote ClickBank’s digital products but don’t let that deter you in any way because there is still lots of money to be made selling digital products. As of this writing, ClickBank has paid out an astounding 1.5 billion dollars.

Since I’m always asked what are some of the best affiliate networks for finding products and services to promote, I’ve chosen what I feel are 5 of the top networks for affiliates. There are many more affiliate networks and new ones arrive on the scene almost daily. One of the most important things you should want to do as an affiliate marketer, is join a program that is not only well established but has credibility. The affiliate networks I have listed are not only reliable as far as payment to affiliates, but also have excellent resources, ad tracking and have solid reputations with both affiliates and merchants.

I’m sure most if not all of you have heard of ClickBank. In this post, I would like to discuss some of the advantages and benefits of becoming a ClickBank affiliate. Personally, I feel ClickBank is a great resource not only for seasoned marketers but for those who are new to affiliate marketing. Currently, ClickBank is the largest digital products company in the world. They process well over 20,000 orders per day. If you’ve ever purchased an e-book online, chances are, you probably bought it through ClickBank. Affiliate marketers go to the ClickBank marketplace looking for products to sell and presently there are over 100,000 affiliates registered with them. As of this writing, ClickBank has paid out over 1.3 billion dollars, yes that’s billion in client earnings.

ClickBank  has announced their new ClickBank HopAds Builder. It’s a powerful new way for affiliates to promote ClickBank products. The HopAds Builder allows affiliates who own web sites or blogs to easily create fully customizable ad boxes. This tool allows affiliates to customize both the look and content of ads to match their site.

The HopAds Builder is entirely free to use, and HopAds pay out the same affiliate commissions as Hoplinks created through the Marketplace. HopAds use ad text created by ClickBank publishers to appeal directly to consumers, and all ads are screened by ClickBank for content and quality.

This should prove to be an excellent tool for anyone who is currently promoting products offered on ClickBank. I just started using this resource myself and you can see what the tabbed ad version looks like near the top of the sidebar. I’ll be experimenting with various versions over the next few days.
