Maybe I’m a bit biased but affiliate marketing can be an excellent way to earn some money. It also provides the means for people to set up an online business without lots of up front capital or risk. When you do become an affiliate, you will be working for someone, however, you are rewarded for your personal efforts. Your income will be based on your performance and not on the hours or days in which you work. The more effort you put into it, the more you can earn.

The merchants and vendors will be handling all the product development, resources, delivery and customer issues and your primary function will be promoting the products and services in the ways that you feel will be most productive. Simply put, you will be selling other people’s “stuff” and earning commissions for every sale you generate.

It seems that nowadays, quite a few bloggers are utilizing their blogs to generate some income as affiliate marketers. The amount of income that these blogs generate will vary quite a bit depending on the amount of traffic and the type of commission being received from the various affiliate programs. Basically, the affiliate places a banner or link to the merchant’s web site and is compensated according to a previously agreed on contract. There are several ways in which the blog owner can be compensated. For those who already have a site, there are several ways you can earn some extra money.
